DurationOctober 2007
Implemented by: Yigal Hanatayev

Tel Qudadi (Tell esh-Shuna) is located on the northern bank of the Yarkon River outlet, inside the Redding Power Station compound. This is a small tell that rises to a height of c. 8 meters above sea level. A number of archaeological excavations were conducted there during the twentieth century in which two citadels dating to the period of the Israelite kingdom (Iron Age) were uncovered that protected the entrance to the Yarkon River from an invasion from the sea.At the site today there are the remains of ashlar and fieldstone built walls that are preserved to a height of several courses. The aim of the current project is to stabilize the exposed building remains. The measures being taken include: the removal of vegetation, pointing up the masonry joints, filling in voids between the ashlar stones, stabilizing undermined ashlar stones and returning fallen stones to their original place.
