The city gate from the Canaanite period at Tel Dan is one of the oldest known arched structures in the world.
The conservation measures at the site include initial stabilization of the gate’s southern tower and the reconstruction of the outer facade of its northern tower. The work was accomplished utilizing ancient building technologies.
